Through experiential learning, relationship building, and a safe nurturing environment, CCLM seeks to empower the community, develop leaders, promote community literacy, transform economic conditions, and improve health and safety. To facilitate this mission, CCLM provides healing, encouragement, food and housing to a community in need.

Our Dedicated Staffs

The Rev. David J. Kalke Pastor. Pastor Kalke moved to San Bernardino in 1996 following 21 years of urban ministry in New York City . Since his arrival in San Bernardino, Central City Lutheran Mission opened its doors to the community and has become a nationally recognized holistic comprehensive community organizing site specializing in health, education and housing. Pastor Kalke has traveled extensively throughout Central and South America and served as the International General Secretary of a non-governmental organization at the United Nations before his arrival to San Bernardino. Pastor Kalke believes in the development of a popular Christian community, based in word, sacrament and service, as the basis for work in areas of civil and human rights.
