Meal Delivery for Homebound Persons with AIDS

CCLM's meal delivery service provides meals and food items for homebound persons with AIDS. In a county where no other such service exists, it is an important link to better living as nutrition plays such a vital role in the quality of life for persons with compromised immune systems. At this time, we provide meals on Fridays for weekend use. Living in temporary hotels between apartments or in homes by themselves, good nutrition and social interaction with others are important. Visits by volunteers to bring food provide an opportunity for home care assessments and social interaction. CCLM also provides more in depth case management for cases that require it.
Summer Lunch Program
Every Summer CCLM provides free lunches for neighborhood children. This program is carried out together with the City of San Bernardino Parks, Recreation
and Community Services Department. During the summer of 1998 CCLM provided close to 4,000 free lunches to neighborhood youth.
Community Lunches, After School Snacks and Dinners
During the year, CCLM provides free lunches to neighborhood children, teenagers and adults who do community service or work in the Food Stamp Employement Training (FSET) program at the Mission. Every afternoon we serve 40-60 children and teenagers in our after school snack program and our evening dinner. These meals are prepared by youth in the After School Program and local volunteers.
Food Pantry Service
CCLM offers a food pantry service that distributes food and clothing to approximately 50 neighborhood families once a week. Food distribution
is combined with information about CCLM's free medical and dental services
and about our Adolescent Health Care Programs and After School Programs.
