Adult Program

St. Matthias House

Young men 18 years of age or over in some post-secondary education program are provided housing in St. Matthias House, CCLM's on campus 5 bedroom duplex. Scholarships for housing are hard to get, often leaving youth with the option of working or military service. In October, 2001, CCLM made the commitment that none of our young men will come home in body bags, requiring us to develop support ways to support men in post-secondary education programs.

Food Stamp Employment Training Program

CCLM is a work site for participants in the county's Food Stamp Employment Training Program. They work in CCLM's kitchen, and around the CCLM campus. FSET workers become involved in CCLM's nutrition and health care programs and interact with other adults who are active in drug and alcohol rehab programs—many of whom have overcome situations of homelessness, unemployment and chemical dependency. Once a month FSET workers participate in a program developed specifically to address issues that affect them and the community in general; such as, unemployment, drug addiction, alcoholism, and AIDS.

Community Services

CCLM is a court approved site for youth and adults to complete court mandated hours. As one of the only sites in San Bernardino for youth, CCLM welcomes youth and encourages youth to become involved in constructive community building activities. Many youth complete their hours, and stay on as volunteers or are invited to join our Peer Education Program.
